On The Hill: Making a Difference
As the member of the National Teen Board of Jack and Jill of America, I helped lead the teen efforts at the Jack and Jill biennial the On The Hill Summit that was held Sept. 22-25, 2023 in Washington, D.C. On The Hill was comprised of more than 600 Teens from 30+ states who met with their representatives on Capitol Hill to advocate for five legislative issues: the prioritization of voter education and awareness, CROWN Act support, gun control and stricter gun laws, policing reform, and mental health awareness and education.
I personally had a 1:1 meeting with a representative in Congressman Jonathan L. Jackson's office in the Longworth House Office Building. I am partnering with their office to support the creation of a bill for tighter gun legislation. I am forever grateful.
